Orbies founder and - for want of a better job title - ‘Spooksperson’ and ‘CEO’ (guffaw!) - Julie has been obsessed with history and the dead people in it since she was about 4 years old. Her long suffering parents used to have to undertake the trek to Kolossi Castle in Limassol, Cyprus, from their home in nearby Episkopi with the pig-tailed terror most weekends so that she could “be near Richard The Lion Heart” (who of course had been dead for at least 775 years by that time)...
Ask our Dave if he’s a medium and he’ll tell you that no, actually he’s an Extra Large! Descended from Alice Nutter, one of the Pendle Witches, Dave has a deadly sense of humour (yay, great pun!) and an extraordinary insight into The Other Side which never fails to astound onlookers.
Dave is a mine of information in most matters paranormal! Some of our best times have been out in the field on a dark night when a vigil has proven to be a little ‘quiet’ and we settle down in the blackness with our steaming mugs of hot chocolate (yes, with marshmallows in!) and a couple of torches and gamely interrogate Dave!

El Tigs comes from good Huguenot and Viking stock. Utterly fearless as a result of this our El Tigro tends to be in the front when we’re heading into very dark places at 3 in the morning and - we’re utterly convinced - she CAN see in the dark!
El Tigro spends an awful lot of time pouring over old maps, history books, obscure web sites and county records! Tyger has an in depth knowledge of British and European history on a local and national level and - by her own admission - can bore the pants off practically anyone with her ramblings about window taxes, pneumonic plague, surfeits of lampreys and Templar Knights...!

Van Helsing
Mr Enigma - Van Helsing - is our Technical Consultant! With 20 years experience directing an audio visual company he sure knows his onions! A trained film-sound recordist who's expertise lies in the recording and playback of sound, he spent a number of years working in tv both with film crew and programme production. Open minded and analytical, Van Helsing has been known to attract the attention of the odd poltergeist!

Hannah
Reiki Master Hannah’s both an investigator and our spiritual scribe! Minute taker extraordinaire, Hannah’s also chief recording clerk at our meetings.
No matter what kicks off during the course of a vigil, our ‘Daphne’ (looking stunning with her head torch on if it’s particularly dark!!) is on hand to record the words, thoughts and deeds of the Spiritual Team and other guests!
Hannah’s also the one we can rely on to remember when someone has a birthday and to make sure that a cake magically appears on time at a meeting!

Not much scares this girl! Experienced Ghost Hunter and Group Leader Sarah is a great favourite with guests at our public ghost hunts! With more energy and enthusiasm than is strictly decent (!), Sarah manages to keep us all on our toes trying to keep up with her!
Sean
Sean is the Orbie’s chief ‘Sensitive’. This doesn't mean that the rest of us are insensitive oafs you understand, but that our Sean is in touch with natural energies and is closely attuned with nature spirits. Worried about the atmosphere? Don’t be, unless Sean is...!
Sean will pick up on energies which others may find difficult to quantify - after all, not everything out there has known life in a human form!
What Sean won’t be able to do however is to help hoist you out of a river if you happen to fall in, by the time he’s finished laughing you’ll have managed it yourself - ask Dave, he should know!!

Kate
Kate’s always got her hands full as an Orbies Techie , scientific scribe and vigil researcher! Kate somehow manages to keep up with our Techies when we’re out in the field to ensure that all technical readings are logged for analysis and comparison with other data afterwards.
We also rely on our Kate to seek out locations suitable for private Orbie investigations to keep us ticking over nicely throughout the year!
Trev
Technical Trev is our new cameraman! Brimming with boundless energy and bristling with equipment and enthusiasm Trev also knows how to fly a light aircraft which may come in handy if we’re ever called on to do an ‘Indiana Jones’ mission somewhere in Tibet!
Trev’s steady hand and nerve ensure that no matter what goes on during the course of a vigil, we’ll have a copy of it for posterity! Full marks to Trev for refusing to drop the camera and leg it when pushed by unseen hands during our vigil at Plas Newydd with Julie’s howls of “Keep Filming, Trev! Keep Filming!” ringing in the poor chap’s ears....!
